This is a small collection, great for a cigar box hide-a-way collection(small hidden treasures).Tobacco Advertising, these were plugs stuck in the tobacco to hold the paper closed, and are a great type of tin advertising. These tags were used on tobacco plugs in the late 1800s and early 1920s. These tags were used to identify the brand, there was little printing on the paper if any. They were often saved to redeem gifts from the tobacco company.
