I have no idea about the manufacturer of the plate and I dont know who marketed these dishes with the frogs. But I do know who the characters are! I am a second grade teacher and Frog and Toad have always been my favorite characters. They were created by Arnold Lobel and appear in a series of I Can Read readers. The first book in the series, Frog and Toad are Friends, was published in 1970. Hope this bit of information helps you find more about these dishes. I would sure love to see them!

Yes, they are definitely frog and toad plates.
ReplyDeleteYou are incorrect. My grandmother had bought of these plates, with smooth edges but exact same images + 4 more, before her marriage in 1913.
